The Organization:

QSRSoft provides restaurant operations solutions that are designed to help restaurant owners achieve success by identifying, measuring, and solving operational problems.

Founded in 2004, QSRSoft has rapidly grown and now services thousands of client locations all over the United States and internationally. While they specialize in the quick service restaurant industry, their solutions can be leveraged across concepts and industries.

The Challenge:

As a growing company, QSRSoft was extremely busy developing innovative solutions for their customers. They wanted to optimize their AWS infrastructure but had not had time to conduct a thorough AWS Well Architected Framework Review in over five years.

The company repeatedly postponed their reviews because it usually took a team of 6 employees 60 hours to complete a review on a single workload.

As they prepared to launch their newest product, QSRSoft needed a way to ensure their AWS infrastructure was secure and ready to scale, without pulling multiple team members off pressing, product-related work.

The Solution:

QSRSoft partnered with Rego to complete an AWS Well Architected Framework Review using the 6Pillars solution. With AI and automation, the review only took 72 minutes to complete.

Rego also deployed AWS Security Hub to provide ongoing security monitoring and remediation following the review.

Focus on Value-Driven Work: Because Rego completed the review so quickly, QSRSoft’s employees were able to focus on important, client-facing work and launching their new product.

High-Risk Issues Identified: During the AWS Well Architected Framework Review, Rego identified high-risk issues (HRIs) that were negatively impacting QSRSoft’s AWS infrastructure, including security vulnerabilities and issues that would prevent them from scaling.

AWS Infrastructure Improvements: Rego provided the company with a recommendations report following the review. Based on the targeted insights within the report, QSRSoft was able to quickly optimize their AWS infrastructure for security, scalability, and cost savings.

Ongoing Security Monitoring: Rego also deployed AWS Security Hub during the review. This tool enabled QSRSoft to automate security monitoring and remediation going forward. Now, the company can focus on scaling their new product without worrying about possible security threats.

Adoption of Best Practices: When Rego implemented AWS Security Hub, they also equipped QSRSoft with best practices to utilize the tool. These best practices will help QSRSoft strengthen their security posture and get the most value out of Security Hub as they move forward.

The Road Ahead:

Control Tower: Based on recommendations in the review report, QSRSoft will partner with Rego to deploy AWS Control Tower. This tool will bring all QSRSoft’s AWS accounts into one environment, helping them centralize governance, simplifying oversight, and holistically manage security and compliance. By bringing all of their accounts together, QSRSoft will be ready to rapidly scale.

AWS Well Architected Framework Reviews: QSRSoft plans to partner with Rego to get AWS Well Architected Framework Reviews for their other products’ environments, ensuring their entire AWS ecosystem is optimized for success.
