Nearly 300 people representing over 80 companies gathered at the Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada for an action-packed Clarity conference – Rego University (RegoU) 2025. With dozens of classes, networking events, and plenty of fun (it’s Vegas, after all), customers, partners, and Rego employees enjoyed a memorable and energizing experience.

For those who’ve attended RegoU before, you know it’s not your typical conference. The event combines hands-on learning, customer-led insights, and a healthy dose of community building. And for those new to RegoU? It’s a chance to join a vibrant network of Clarity and project portfolio management (PPM) professionals who are shaping the way organizations deliver value.

Behind the Scenes

Big events don’t just “happen.” Months of behind-the-scenes preparation go into creating a seamless experience, and RegoU 2025 was no exception.

Kara Turnbloom, Director of Events at Rego Consulting, summed it up: “It’s our best Rego University ever!” Sandra Da Silva, Admin – Events Marketing, echoed the sentiment.

For nearly a year, the events team worked tirelessly – negotiating with the venue, ensuring every dietary requirement was addressed, coordinating signage, planning logistics, and fine-tuning the schedule. Their attention to detail paid off.

Sandra shared that the staff at Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa were instrumental in the success of the conference. From catering to tech support, their professionalism and hospitality helped elevate the entire event.

Sessions

If there’s one thing RegoU is known for, it’s the content. The sessions were packed with strategies, success stories, and hands-on tips for maximizing Clarity and beyond.

One of the most talked-about classes was Hierarchy and Roadmaps: Complementary Use Cases. Attendees from a variety of roles – project managers, portfolio leaders, resource managers, and PMO executives – described it as transformative. One participant said she planned to implement what she learned the very day she returned home. (She even joked that would be her first call off the plane!)

Roundtables were another highlight, offering open forums where attendees swapped experiences on adoption, resource management, and PMO maturity.

But RegoU goes further than Clarity. Attendees also had the chance to expand their horizons in sessions focused on personal growth, change management, and technology prowess.

  • Creativity and Focus – practical tools to boost personal performance.

  • Change Management – techniques for sustaining organizational transformation.

  • Technology Skills – including programming fundamentals, Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, and PowerPoint tips, as well as AWS strategies to speed up cloud migration.

One particularly inspiring moment came from an Eaton employee who, just a year ago, attended RegoU to learn. This year, he returned as a presenter, showcasing how his company transformed with Clarity. It was a testament to the value of the event – ideas that spark action, and action that becomes success stories.

Networking

Networking at RegoU isn’t an afterthought – it’s a cornerstone.

As a self-described friendly introvert and new Rego employee, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I connected with executives, PMs, RMOs, IT managers, communications specialists, strategists, and finance leaders. The diversity of attendees – from companies like Andersen Windows and Doors as well as Oxford University to smaller firms with fewer than 50 employees – meant conversations were always rich and varied.

The RegoU mobile app made it easy to coordinate meetups, track sessions, and keep conversations going after the event. One of my most memorable connections was with Julie, who grew up near my hometown. We found common ground in our shared experiences. That’s the magic of RegoU – instant community.

And it truly is an international event. Attendees hailed from across the U.S., as well as the U.K., France, Greece, India, Eastern Europe, and Australia. Conversations flowed easily at meals, between sessions, and at evening socials. Whether you’re outgoing or a little shy (like me), RegoU offers countless opportunities to build meaningful connections.

Partnerships

One of the fantastic things about RegoU is how many partners come to and/or support the event. One of our largest supporters is the company that makes Clarity and its connectors: Broadcom. This year, one of the sessions that caused an excited stir was their AI play – ValueOps® Artificial Intelligence Agent (Vaia). Broadcom also led a variety of courses on timely topics, including metrics, strategy, tools (such as ConnectALL®), and governance. In addition, they attended sessions where they provided guidance and on-the-spot advice. They also had a booth to provide more one-on-one guidance to help attendees.

At the event were other partners such as AWS, who also sponsored it. Represented by Rego Consulting, Rego’s AWS team covered a methodology for better AWS migrating, accelerating the project while ensuring it’s done correctly. (Spoiler: It includes a pizza party. How can it go wrong?)

The company itdesign was there as well, covering classes on Advanced Resource Planning and Clarity Add-on: Portfolio Optimizer. Speaking with people at the conference, the Portfolio Optimizer seemed especially interesting.

Prosci joined us, too, covering what they do really well – change management. As part of the discussion, they provided reasons why AI hasn’t been as widely adopted as perhaps companies would like: the lack of change management. They made a point that resonated with everyone – hardly anyone has had AI training on using tools like ChatGPT or Copilot, too. Good food for thought, especially as organizations want to adopt more AI (not less).

Venue

The Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa was an ideal setting. Located just off the Strip, it provided easy access to Las Vegas attractions while offering a more relaxed, scenic atmosphere. The resort’s views of the sandstone peaks of Red Rock Canyon were breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset.

The property itself was recently renovated, and it showed. Spacious rooms, luxurious bathrooms, and incredibly comfortable beds made for a welcome retreat after full conference days. (I’m sorry, we all do have to leave at some point!)

Dining was another highlight. Whether you craved Thai, Japanese (including Wagyu beef and sushi), Italian, or an American classic, the options were endless. I especially liked the Lucky Penny, a diner with a full breakfast array worth visiting even outside the conference package. For those looking for a splurge, T-Bones Chophouse earned rave reviews as a top-tier steakhouse. Sandra swears by it!

And the event catering? Outstanding. Conference meals can sometimes be an afterthought, but RegoU’s food was gourmet quality. From pizza and mushroom ragu to chicken with creamy spinach sauce, every meal impressed. If you’re a dessert person (looking at Rego’s President), they don’t disappoint.

With hosted receptions and complimentary drinks, the hospitality experience was complete.

Beyond the Conference

RegoU doesn’t just happen inside the conference rooms. The location offers unique opportunities to unwind and explore.

The pools at the resort, surrounded by palm trees and desert-inspired design, felt like an oasis. Some attendees took advantage of discounted spa packages, indulging in massages and facials after long days of learning. Others enjoyed the on-site casino, where the craps table became a spirited gathering spot for my fellow Rego colleagues. (Sorry about your money, Michael.)

For those seeking outdoor beauty, Red Rock Canyon was just a short drive away. Attendees hiked scenic trails, explored ancient petroglyphs, and took in panoramic views of the desert landscape. It was a reminder that Las Vegas offers more than neon lights and late nights – it’s also a gateway to natural beauty. That short drive is absolutely worth it, including a stop at the Visitor Center.

Of course, the Strip was close by for those who wanted entertainment. Several attendees went to shows at the Sphere (including the Eagles and Wizard of Oz), Cirque du Soleil performances, and high-profile comedy acts. But many admitted they were just as happy staying at the Red Rock, enjoying the balance of relaxation and excitement.

Why RegoU Matters

It’s easy to highlight the fun, food, and scenery. But what truly sets RegoU apart is the value attendees bring back to their organizations.

Nearly everyone I spoke with said they were leaving brimming with actionable insights – ways to cut costs, increase efficiency, and drive adoption. The combination of customer-led sessions, expert guidance, and peer networking created a learning environment that was both practical and inspiring.

More than that, RegoU reinforces a sense of community. Clarity and PPM professionals often face similar challenges, and this event provides a rare opportunity to collaborate across industries and geographies. Whether through structured classes or casual conversations, knowledge sharing was constant.

We’ve heard from a lot of customers that travel budgets were hit hard this year, preventing some people from coming. But you can still get some of the key learnings offered from our sessions! Luckily, you have lots of options. (At Rego, there’s no shortage of ways to learn!)

Attend Next Year

Rego announced our location for next year: San Antonio! The hotel will be along the famous River Walk, close to the Alamo, and within distance of many fun things to do – seeing the sights of San Antonio, going a short distance to the Hill Country (such as German towns like New Braunfels), and stopping by Austin for its incredible music scene. Regardless, RegoU in the Lone Star State won’t disappoint. To pre-register, contact your account manager.

Events, User Groups, and Knowledgebase

Don’t forget to look for events and user groups in your area, covering information you’re interested in. If you have questions about which groups may help, contact your account manager or consultant. They may have suggestions for your team.

Of course, there’s an online user group, too for people who need help and support – RegoGroups.com. Go to your area and engage!

Lastly, don’t forget the knowledgebase available to you and your teams through RegoXchange.

Your Account Manager and Consultants

If you’re ever stuck and unsure what to do, reach out to your account manager or your business consultant. They may have recommendations, including online training, webinars, etc., that you or your teams can take

RegoU = Fun + Learning

If there’s one piece of advice for future attendees, it’s this: come well-rested. The pace is brisk, the content rich, and the connections non-stop. You’ll leave with pages of notes, a phone full of new contacts, and a head full of ideas ready to put into practice.

And yet, it never feels overwhelming. The balance of learning and fun ensures that the knowledge sticks. As I reflected in one of my favorite sessions, Concepts of Creativity, sometimes play mixed with learning makes the new information stick. When you’re enjoying yourself, the lessons stay with you long after the conference ends.

RegoU 2025 proved once again that this isn’t just a conference – it’s an experience. An experience that informs, connects, and inspires. And judging by the enthusiasm of this year’s participants, RegoU 2026 has a very high bar to clear – from customers, employees, and partners.

If you signed up for RegoU, you should get an email in September with the slide decks for you to bring to your co-workers. And look for information soon about joining us in San Antonio in 2026! Yee haw.
