Meet the Instructors of Rego University 2025: Apptio Summit

This year, there are 40 classes to choose from ranging from functional courses to hands-on technical training classes. You can check out the full class list here.

Rego University classes are taught by Rego’s team of senior TBM, FinOps, and Agile instructors, who have over 100 years of combined Apptio, Cloudability, Targetprocess, and Turbonomic experience. Pulling from their deep knowledge and real-world experience, they will show you how to get the most out of your tools and new ways to optimize your IT spending.

Tim has spent most of his career pioneering new solutions that empower companies to leverage enhanced visibility into their IT spending to redistribute more toward growth and transformation. He spent the majority of his 25-year career at Cisco Systems in IT followed by leadership roles at VMware and ServiceNow.

Tim has been a key part of the cross-industry team that developed the Technology Business Management (TBM) framework. In addition to his role at Rego Consulting as VP of Business Development, he continues to cultivate a strong presence throughout the industry as a member of the TBM Council Steering Committee and was recently featured in The Next CIO, which is an Amazon best seller.

He has been invited to the White House multiple times to help support our US CIO on the 2023 TBM Public Sector mandate and continues to support that effort.

Tim’s expertise comprises of over 15 years of experience in the TBM space. His focus is on operationalizing TBM across the IT Organization with focus on organizational change management and governance.

Eric is veteran Technology Business Management Analyst (TBMA) with an MBA, and PMP and ETBMA certifications. He has extensive experience with Apptio product implementation, configuration, optimization, reporting, and troubleshooting. Eric also specializes in IT and business project management, Lean Six Sigma projects, data analysis, IT change and release management, and end user training.

Hollie is an experienced Technology Business Management (TBM) and IT Financial Management (ITFM) professional with 20 years of hands-on expertise in the field. She is a pioneer in the adoption of the TBM framework and processes, having successfully implemented it across multiple large organizations, including Coca-Cola, Cox Enterprises, Cox Communications, and Keurig Dr Pepper. As Principal Strategic Advisor at Rego Consulting, she shares her expertise in maximizing IT investments, reducing costs, and enhancing operational efficiency through the effective application of TBM and ITFM principles.

Eric has been leading software implementations for over 10 years within different industries. He has worked closely with clients in all stages of implementing Apptio. Eric collaborates with clients on gathering requirements, documenting solutions, and utilizing data relationships to create financial models for actuals, budget, and forecasting. He has extensive experience advising leadership and Technology Business Management offices on best practices, change management, and socialization around IT financing.

Chris has been working on software implementations for over 13 years in various capacities from project management to customer success to architecting product solutions. Before joining Rego Consulting, Chris spent 10 years of his career at Apptio (now IBM) in a variety of roles and most recently was at Cloudera. He is an avid skier and off-road motorcyclist and is in the process of getting his private pilot license.

Combining 20+ years of developing/managing software solutions and the past 10+ years as an Agile Coach, Jeff has helped companies across a variety of industries deliver value while improving how people feel about their contribution. Leveraging this combined skillset, he has a deep understanding of many of the Agile tools, including Apptio Targetprocess. Utilizing his Agile principles and process knowledge and tooling expertise, he creates a tactical and practical approach to rolling out change and improving the team’s ability to deliver value. He has also delivered custom reporting, automation, and integrations within the Agile tool suites to help teams and leadership get even more value out of their software solutions.

Prior to joining Rego Consulting as a Senior Consultant, Phil spent over seven years honing his expertise in Technology Business Management (TBM) at Apptio (now IBM). There, he specialized in delivering various Apptio solutions, focusing on ApptioOne (Costing & Planning) and IT Planning. He brings extensive experience to the table, specializing in IT Planning, Cost Transparency (full-stack) modeling, and DataLink. Phil’s background extends beyond Apptio, encompassing a previous role in technology and consulting. Today, he leverages this well-rounded knowledge and experience at Rego Consulting to empower clients on their TBM journey. His passion lies in fostering collaborative environments where problem-solving is driven by a data-driven approach, leading to real, impactful results.

Daniel has worked in the IT Cost Management space for the past decade in roles ranging from Technical Analyst to Strategic Advisor. During this time, he led the design and implementations of Enterprise Cost Transparency Solutions at a myriad of Fortune 100 companies. Further, he worked to ensure and maintain program stability after delivery to drive quantifiable outcomes for his customers. This also enabled productive conversations and alignment between Finance and Technology. In addition to traditional IT Cost Solutions, he has also helped to shape and solidify FinOps Offices with the aim to optimize Cloud Spend across the major providers.

Doug Greer is a business technology consultant with 15 years of experience in IT business management, IT financial management, IT transformations, strategic consulting, project/program management, and professional services delivery. He’s an expert in bridging the gaps between the people, process and technical aspects of complex business technology needs. Doug is also the Managing Director of Apptio services at Rego Consulting.

Josh Roberto has 10 years of Apptio Technology Business Management (TBM) experience, and he worked at Apptio for over five years. During that time, he led many initiatives and implemented numerous Apptio deployments as the Tech Lead, Solutions Architect, and Data Engineer. After leaving Apptio, Josh founded BoostTBM, where his team focused on complex use cases, custom requirements and helping TBM Offices operationalize Apptio. Leveraging his platform expertise, he built an Apptio mobile app and an “emailer plugin,” which is now called RegoEngage. BoostTBM was acquired by Rego Consulting in 2022, and Josh now co-leads the TBM practice at Rego.
