The challenge: improving visibility and reporting

Ground-breaking research and development requires millions of dollars of investment. Effective project and portfolio management (PPM) and decision-making are vital to safeguarding these investments and bringing to market Alexion’s breakthrough therapies. The company was determined to further improve visibility and reporting across its portfolio of projects to aid decision-making and maintain its track record for innovation.

The solution: multi-level reporting and KPI dashboards

Alexion selected Rego Consulting to deploy ServiceNow as its new PPM solution and also to help establish a business relationship management system for the company.

Working alongside Alexion staff, Rego implemented demand and project and portfolio management to ensure visibility of the intake and execution of all projects across the organization. Together they developed custom dashboards for Business Relationship Managers, providing insights into demand and project portfolios for specific business areas.

Metrics, reports, and dashboards were developed to provide greater transparency for senior level management, with an emphasis on projects of high importance. Rego also configured ServiceNow to enable multi-level reporting, from CIO and portfolio managers to functional heads and project managers, to provide tailored views of the status, risks, and key metrics of all projects.

Alexion’s senior managers now have greater insights into the KPIs, status, and risks of critical projects which will help improve decision-making and safeguard investments.
