I just visited La Cantera Resort and Spa in San Antonio—the location of regoUniversity 2017. What an amazing place. I can’t wait for April to arrive.

La Cantera is larger than last year’s location, and I don’t think there’s a bad view from anywhere on the grounds. What I quickly noticed was all of the places to gather and hang out—big fire pits, small fire pits, fire places, running water, fountains, grass, outdoor bars, and swimming pools. There’s far more open gathering-spaces than Phoenix.

The meeting rooms have been remodeled or are brand new. All of the meeting rooms, with the exception of the ballrooms (where we’ll have lunch) have windows with great views. And because everything is new, the rooms feel spacious with new tables, chairs, and yes . . . new internet infrastructure! I think everyone will really enjoy the meeting area, which will facilitate a great learning and networking experience.

But what makes this place really cool is the gathering places and swimming pools. There are five pools, including a kids’ pool with water slides, adult pools, and an infinity pool with cabanas. The pools overlook two golf courses—the resorts course and an Arnold Palmer course. They have also added a new spa. It is a separate building with multiple swimming/lounge pools, saunas, steam rooms, and stunning views.

If you have ever thought about bringing your significant other and/or family to regoUniversity, this would definitely be the year. The resort has a ton of stuff to do including a Kids Camp and arcade. Six Flags Fiesta Texas and the The Shops at La Cantera (a high end outdoor mall) are minutes away, and the hotel has free shuttles that run every 30 minutes.

We have secured a nice sized block of rooms. We found out that there is a golf event also happening at the same time that we are there, so the rest of the rooms have been secured by that group . . .  so, if you are going to attend, make sure you book your room early. Registration for regoUniversity and the hotel will be available within the next few weeks.
